If your laptop doesn't start properly, maybe It it is trying to start in recovery mode.
Unfortunately, Recovery mode is the default startup mode after an improper shutdown.
The most important thing to know is selecting "Start Windows Normally"

Recovery mode is very dangerous and could lead to a complete computer factory reset!
Another special startup menu is the wan with "Safe modes"
Also in this case take care to select "Start Windows Normally"

If you are seeing those screen, please don't press the power button to interrupt it!

Any computer should do this check once a week, it is going to fix many strange computer behaviour and/or little corruption generated by battery end or other improper shutdowns.
